The Cultural Council of the Embassy of Iran Nairobi participated at the 25th edition of the Nairobi International Book Fair 2024,, hosted at the Sarit Centre from September 25 – 29, 2024.
The Nairobi International Book Fair, organised annually by the Kenya Publishers Association, has brought together publishers, authors, booksellers, print suppliers, media, and readers from Africa and worldwide since the first edition in 1996.

Iranian Cultural Council Nairobi  participated in this exhibition on behalf of a number of Iranian publishers, Iran Book and Literature House and Translation and Publishing Organization Center with more than 300 book volumes in various fields of literature, religion, art, tourism and children and teenagers. And it provides a lot of information in the introduction of the Tehran International Book Fair, the state of the publishing and printing industry in Iran, and the grant program to the visitors and publishers present in this exhibition.

In the opening ceremony of this exhibition, which was accompanied by the presence of Kenyan officials and culture lovers, ambassadors and foreign diplomats residing in Kenya, the ambassador of Iran in Kenya stated: Books are the cultural foundation and factor in preserving and perpetuating the culture of nations, and reading books increases people’s concentration. Increasing the level of awareness and critical thinking in society.

He added: Usually, the main link of every society and their history is books and writing, and civilized, cultural and noble countries in the world support and invest in books and reading.


The ambassador of Iran reminded: The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the leading countries in the printing and publishing industry and with more than 8000 publishers in the country and with the annual publication of 70000 book titles, it holds one of the largest international book fairs in the world. aine has passed its term.

He continued: This year, we hosted one of the senior managers of the Kenya Publishers Association in this exhibition, and the result of this presence was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Tehran International Book Fair and the Nairobi International Book Fair.
